Harvest Abundance Dinner Fundraiser to Support Chatham Mills Farmers Market
Time: 5pm- 8pm
Chatham Mills, 480 Hillsboro St, Pittsboro, NC 27312
Description:Chatham Mills Farmers’ Market (CMFM) is celebrating the bountiful season and vibrant local food community! Their 7th Annual Harvest Abundance Dinner and Fundraiser will be on Sunday, August 5th from 5-8 pm at the historic Chatham Mills!
Please come out for this event and enjoy delicious farm-fresh food while helping to support small farmers and sustainable food systems in our community. CMFM was founded in 2010 to support a transparent, local producer buyer relationship while serving up a weekly dose of fresh produce, meats, arts & crafts and more to Chatham and surrounding areas.
The Harvest Abundance Dinner is their annual event to raise monies to support the market and its community. This fundraiser is the main revenue source for the market and provides crucial funding for the market manager, advertising and community outreach.
This years’ event will be hosted by the newly re-located, Pickle Jar Cafe,
a local farm-to-table restaurant in Chatham Mills. Farmers from CMFM will be donating produce, meat and other products to the event for a harvest feast, so it will be an excellent opportunity for fans of local food and agriculture to gather together and enjoy the bounty of summer, fresh from the farm and prepared by Pickle Jar Cafe chef and owner, Mario Robledo. In addition to heavy hors d’oeuvres made with choice ingredients provided by market farmers, dinner will also include select local wines and beer. Dessert will follow with cake and cupcakes supplied by the Phoenix Bakery in Pittsboro.
The event will also include live music, a grand prize raffle, and a silent auction of items and services by local artists, farmers, and businesses. The grand prize of the raffle is a service from The Food Fairy, a 22 year old personal chef company based in Orange County. This prize includes six hours of Personal Chef Services plus, a Fairy Cooking Wand, & Cook Once ~ Eat for Weeks, a cook-a-long DVD developed by The Food Fairy.
This event draws in nearly 80 community members and has been featured in Chatham Magazine. If you are passionate about local food, agriculture, supporting local businesses or just need an excuse to come out to a classy delicious event, then buy your ticket today!
