First Night Raleigh!

The Triangle does New Years. And its grand. With a daytime schedule that is hopping and big ball or well acorn drop at midnight, make sure you buy your tickets to ring in the first night of 2020 in style. 

20+ blocks of programming throughout downtown, WRAL First Night Raleigh is the way to ring in the New Year! Learn a new hobby for the New Year at our daytime Children’s Celebration from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the NC Museums of History and Sciences. Bounce around music, theatre, and other performances after the Early Countdown at 7:00 pm. Ride the WRAL First Night Ferris Wheel and the Alien Abduction Gravitron amusement ride! Just make sure you’re on Fayetteville Street at midnight for the WRAL Countdown to Midnight and the famous Raleigh Acorn Drop with special guests Boom Unit Brass Band, Caleb Johnson & The Ramblin Saints, and Illiterate Light.

This is a paramount of kid friendly New Years activities. Face painting, henna, games, castle building, origami and more will entertain the littles during the day. This daytime extravaganza culminates in the People’s procession down Fayettville street. Once there an early countdown begins to a kid friendly new year that includes a 7 PM firework display. 

Make sure that you check out the awesomeness that is the Astro Botanicals Garden of Light art installation. It will be open on December 28 and December 3 as well. These large inflatable sculptures of flowers are the work of Stan Clark. When they are lit, they provide a color-changing ode to the botanical world that stuns in daytime or in dark. 

With over 100 performances and activities in nearly 35 venues, there is truly something for everyone. 

All Day Admission Passes go on sale December 1st for $11 in advance or pay simply 15 at the door.
